“Fiat Chrysler Automobiles US LLC” or commonly known as “Chrysler” is an Italian-American automobile manufacturer headquartered in London, UK. “FCA US” is one of the “Big Three” American automobile manufacturers. They sell cars worldwide under their flagship Chrysler brand as well as their subsidiaries Dodge, Jeep and RAM trucks. Out of these subsidiaries only RAM Trucks have been able to create a vehicle capable of competing against the Ford Raptor, a truck like no other.
This is the “Chrysler RAM 1500 Rebel”. RAM trucks have surely built one hell of a vehicle, something that’s good looking and fun to drive.
The Rebel features a blacked out front grille with a large “RAM” letter badge. It is lifted higher than its predecessor the “Chrysler RAM 1500” for better off-roading capabilities. It comes standard with a powder coated front bumper, skid plates, tow hooks and a fog light. It also features an all aluminium hood which is distinct to the Rebel. The Rebel is capable of towing 5783kgs and 1043kgs of payload at the same time.
Not even RAM trucks can escape the luxury of being owned by Chrysler. With a simple three spoked steering wheel and the RAM logo to complete the look, a “6-gauged” gauge cluster and a touchscreen infotainment centre, the interiors of this car are as simple as they are elegant.
To be able to tow the amount of weight the Rebel does RAM gave it 3 engine options;
The revolutionary “e-Torque Mild Hybrid System” replaces the traditional alternator on the engine with a 48-volt battery powered motor that improved performance, efficiency, payload, towing capabilities and drivability. Both the V8’s produce the same amount of power which is 395hp and 410 lb-ft of torque the only difference being that the engine with the e-Torque can tow more weight than the regular V8. The V6 e-Torque produces 305hp and 269 lb-ft of torque and still is the engine option picked by most people as it is less expensive than the V8 variants but still has all the features of the e-Torque. The only transmission option available is the “TorqueFlite” 8-speed automatic transmission which employs next-generation technology, including the e-Torque mild hybrid system, to handle and optimize shift changes and points for efficiency, performance and drivability. The Rebel also features an “Active-Level Four-Corner Air Suspension” which changes the ride height according to the driving mode selected and the Rebel has the most uniquely named driving modes.
The Chrysler RAM 1500 Rebel, even though being one the best in its class has to compete against the Ford f-150, Nissan Titan and the Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Chrysler has admittedly had a tough time getting the RAM trucks to market but however, ever since RAM split from Dodge and became its own brand it seems to be doing incredibly well.
